KEEP FRESH – Together against food waste and for a sustainable future!
Are you interested in sustainable food and want to learn how to reduce food waste?
If YES then we happily invite you to join our project “KEEP FRESH”.
In the course of 4 food preservation workshops and 8 joint evenings with inputs, questions and discussions about food waste, we want to make new contacts together and learn a lot of new food preservation skills and techniques from each other.
PRESERVATION WORKSHOPS
Leftover veggies from a local bio-farmer from 22nd district of Vienna, we will prepare and conserve. Sweet-sour, tasty and long-lasting. During each workshop you will be able to learn about pickling and/or fermenting, preserve the vegetables that otherwise would end up in trash, experiment, chat and exchange.
So come over, bring your own jars, fill them with pickled veggies, take them back home to your community and get to know some people and preservation techniques. All the workshops are facilitated, free and invite people from all backgrounds to join in, regardless of prior knowledge on preservation or resources.
This part of the project is done in collaboration with local viennese farmers and the space of Tüwi association.

DISCUSSION EVENINGS
Our discussion evenings will explore important topics related to food sustainability, focusing on the ecological and social impact of food waste. Together we want to engage in conversations about strategies to minimize food waste and examine community-driven solutions, such as food-sharing programs, community kitchens, local cooking classes and the role of food preservation in reducing environmental harm. The inputs and discussion aim to inspire practical, community-based actions to improve food sustainability and reduce waste.
