What is this project about?
The Carrots in Jars project is an interactive event where participants come together to learn about the process of pickling vegetables, and about other food preservation methods, while engaging in meaningful conversations and community building. The event focuses on using leftover organic vegetables from Vienese local farmers.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own jars, fill them with pickled veggies, and take them back home to share further with their communities. The activity offers a relaxed and informal setting where people can experiment, share ideas, and exchange thoughts about sustainability, food preservation, and topics about food (not) waste.
This is a donation-based event that invites people from all backgrounds to join in, regardless of prior knowledge or resources. It fosters a sense of community through the act of shared learning and dialogue, while contributing to sustainable food practices. So far the event was happening on Monday afternoons, but during other days it is also possible to make it happen.
