Why a StoryTELLING Café?
In our fast-paced world, where many things happen at once and genuine encounters often fall short, moments of attentive, mindful listening have become rare. Story cafés revive a valuable tradition by creating a warm, open space for connection, exchange, and truly listening to one another.
What happens there?
A story café is a place where personal experiences can be shared. Memories, thoughts, and small everyday stories are welcome. It’s not about perfect storytelling, but about honest glimpses into people’s lives. Listening and sharing are equally important and often create a sense of connection and mutual understanding. Every storytelling café from CAN follows a certain theme or topic that we connect our stories to.
Next Storytelling Café Theme:
On Tuesday, July 7th, from 19:00 to 20:30 we warmly invite you to a story café at Der Hafen a self-organized neighborrhod center in the 16th district. The storytelling café will be on the theme: “Lonely Together? Why is it harder to find a sense of community today? When was the last time we felt a genuine sense of connection? And how can we turn mere coexistence into a deeper sense of togetherness?”
Together, we will share small excerpts from our personal stories: When do we feel a sense of belonging? What does community mean to us? Which moments have made us feel especially connected?
